What we fund

Is your project eligible?

We give grants:

  • to support education and training, particularly for young adults
  • to broaden horizons and encourage an appreciation of the value of cultural diversity through activities such as dance, drama, music, creative-writing and the visual arts
  • to provide child-care, support for parents, help where parental support is lacking
  • to enhance recreation through sport, youth clubs and playschemes
  • to develop new opportunities for young people
  • to help young people achieve their full potential

Exclusions

We cannot give grants:

  • to individuals
  • for research, unless it is action research designed to lead directly to the advancement of practical activities in the community
  • for feasibility studies
  • for medical care and resources
  • in response to general charitable appeals, unless they can be shown to be of specific benefit to children and young people in one or more of the geographical areas listed
  • as direct replacements for the withdrawal of funds by statutory authorities for activities which are primarily the responsibility of central or local government
  • to umbrella organisations to distribute to projects which are already in receipt of funds from the Charity
  • for the promotion of religion or politics
  • for telephone helplines
  • as core funding for national charities
  • for advice and information services
  • to Housing Associations
