What we fund
Is your project eligible?
We give grants:
- to support education and training, particularly for young adults
- to broaden horizons and encourage an appreciation of the value of cultural diversity through activities such as dance, drama, music, creative-writing and the visual arts
- to provide child-care, support for parents, help where parental support is lacking
- to enhance recreation through sport, youth clubs and playschemes
- to develop new opportunities for young people
- to help young people achieve their full potential
Exclusions
We cannot give grants:
- to individuals
- for research, unless it is action research designed to lead directly to the advancement of practical activities in the community
- for feasibility studies
- for medical care and resources
- in response to general charitable appeals, unless they can be shown to be of specific benefit to children and young people in one or more of the geographical areas listed
- as direct replacements for the withdrawal of funds by statutory authorities for activities which are primarily the responsibility of central or local government
- to umbrella organisations to distribute to projects which are already in receipt of funds from the Charity
- for the promotion of religion or politics
- for telephone helplines
- as core funding for national charities
- for advice and information services
- to Housing Associations
